Glossary
Job card
The shop floor record of a specific piece of work: what is being made, on which machine, and how far it has got.
In short
The shop floor record of a specific piece of work: what is being made, on which machine, and how far it has got.
The job card is where production status becomes data. When it is updated as work moves, nobody has to compile a status report, because the status already exists.
It is also where actual setup and cycle time get recorded, which is what makes the next quotation accurate.
Where SysOMS handles it
Job cards carry the order line, machine group, quantity and stage, and update the order's status as they progress.
