SysOMS vs a generic crm
A CRM wins the deal. Then it walks away.
A generic CRM manages contacts, pipeline and activity up to the point the deal closes. A plant's risk starts there: specification, approved rate, committed date, production and dispatch, none of which a CRM models or controls.

Honest reading
What a generic crm keeps and drops.
Keeps
- Excellent contact management and activity history.
- Mature marketing automation and email tooling.
- Large ecosystems of add-ons.
Where it stops
- It does not know what your plant can make or when.
- It cannot enforce an approved rate.
- It treats the won deal as the end of the process.
When it is the right choice
If your sales cycle is long and consultative and delivery is straightforward, for example a trading arm or a services line, a generic CRM may be all you need. If material has to be specified, priced and produced, the important half sits outside it.

Fair questions
What owners ask here.
Can we use both?
Some plants do, with the CRM for top-of-funnel marketing and SysOMS from enquiry onward. Just be clear which system owns the commitment, because two owners is worse than either.
We already customised a CRM for orders. Why change?
The practical test is whether it can stop a quotation going out below the approved price and whether the shop floor updates it. If the answer to both is no, it is a contact database with order fields.
Does SysOMS do email campaigns?
It captures and governs enquiries rather than running campaigns. Campaign tools can feed enquiries into it.
